We have developed a system with a user interface where all information is gathered in just one main window. LeanFIDS uses a new and unique way of planning and maintaining flight plans. The basic idea is to set up a flight only once, and not for every day it is scheduled, saving a lot of repetitive work and time.
- LeanFIDS Server Database: The central component where all data is stored and from where all displays are driven.
- LeanFIDS Player Modules: Connected to the server, responsible for showing content on screens.
- LeanFIDS Plan Modules: Used to control and maintain the system, perform planning operations, configure marquees, users, and interface languages.
LeanFIDS can be integrated into other systems for import and export of data, such as slot services, tower information, weather, ground transportation, web, and text TV.
The Plan module is installed on a standard PC, either an existing airport PC at check-in or office, or dedicated machines delivered with the system. It is used for planning, controlling operations, and configuring the system.
The interface offers context-dependent options. Functions appear exactly where they are needed, making the system simple and easy to use. This ensures a low rate of faulty manual entries, because only minor parts of the data need to be typed in manually. Context constraints guide the user.
This design allows users to quickly learn the system, reducing training costs. User satisfaction is high because the system is intuitive and easy to use.
